About Freedom Fest

Freedom Fest 2020 will be Saturday, August 22, 2020. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. Our free compassion component will run from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. For more information on our response to COVID-19 and its impact on our event, please visit https://www.freedomfestnewlife.com/covid.

While Freedom Fest will look different in 2020, it has a rich history of serving our community. Freedom Fest began as a “backyard BBQ” in 2002 and developed into one of the largest community events in the Janesville, Wisconsin area. It grew from a few friends and church family into a full-blown festival. In previous years, it has been estimated that between 25,000 and 30,000 people attend Freedom Fest. Our history of having great attractions, delicious food and excellent stage performances has drawn crowds from various regions. And, the best thing about it is, it’s free! We don’t charge admission; we don’t charge to park; we don’t charge for concerts; and, we don’t charge for the fireworks. That means you can enjoy an awesome day of fun and entertainment without hurting the pocket!

The Day of Compassion is an integral and regular part of Freedom Fest. Due to the generous partnership we have had with Mercyhealth, we have been able to offer free interactive health and wellness activities. Each year, we have been able to distribute tens of thousands of pounds of groceries and thousands of articles of clothing. In 2020, we are adding a backpack and school supply giveaway as well. In past events, we have brought in chart-topping Christian performances for those who just want to relax. And, of course, at the end of the night, we have an incredible fireworks display.

So, come join us at our family-friendly, Christ-honoring, community event!
